Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 6W Ortho/Neuro/Transplant Nephrology unit at a Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring at least 1 year of relevant experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on a 20-bed Ortho/Neuro/Transplant Nephrology unit within a Level 1 trauma hospital
- Patient population includes med/surg, nephrology, kidney transplant, and renal cases
- Dialysis is performed off-unit
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Unit supported by daytime unit secretary, PCTs, and a unit educator
- Uses Meditech documentation system
- Overnight shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Required to work 3 weekend shifts per month
- No on-call requirements
- Agency/contract nurses float first per unit policy
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
- ADN required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide med/surg nursing care to patients with orthopedic, neurological, and renal/transplant needs
- Virtual nurse supports patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to focus on other patients
- Unit recognized for teamwork through its 'We Show Up' award
- Royal blue scrubs required; black scrub pants are also acceptable
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered
