Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Trauma unit position requiring ortho and telemetry experience with NIH Stroke Certification helpful.

• 23 beds) at a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center hospital
• Unit specializes in post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, trauma patients, and some neuro overflow cases
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Supported by unit secretaries and patient care technicians
• Uses traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Documents in Meditech
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, including three weekend shifts per schedule period
• Shift hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment
• Contract staff float first, primarily to other Med/Surg level units including General Med/Surg, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma
• Follows bedside shift report and hourly rounding protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg required
• Ortho experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• NIH Stroke Certification helpful
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Care for orthopedic and trauma patients, including post-op joint replacement and some neuro overflow cases
• Navy scrubs required as part of dress code
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
