Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II with 3+ years of experience and an active California RCP license for a Critical Access Hospital position with varied 12-hour shifts.
Details
- Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic setting
- Treats patients across the lifespan including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Performs ventilator management, nebulized medication therapy, oxygen therapy, specialty gas administration, chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapy, and mist tent therapy
- Performs diagnostic procedures including 12-lead ECGs, simple pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, and assists with cardiac stress testing
- Performs arterial and capillary punctures to assess oxygenation, acid-base balance, and ventilation efficiency
- Full-time position with varied 12-hour shifts
- On-call requirement
Requirements
- College diploma required
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required
- Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner license required (license required if applicable)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required
Additional Information
- Performs respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with clinical evaluation, including establishing therapeutic objectives and reviewing care
- Provides respiratory therapy modalities per protocol or physician orders
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use and operation of respiratory equipment
- Documents treatments and patient responses in respiratory care records and patient charts
- Assesses patients' needs and tolerance to treatment, adjusting care based on patient response
- Collaborates closely with other members of the healthcare team and participates in the Rapid Response Team
- Participates in continuing education related to respiratory care
- Participates in quality assurance and improvement activities as well as charge capture review
- Requires detail orientation, compassion, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
