Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week evening shift assignment at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital requiring DC licensure and prior Level I Trauma experience.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital with 228 staffed beds
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • Evening shift schedule (3x12 Hours, 15:30-4:00)
  • EOW (every other weekend) and holiday coverage required
  • No floating to like units required, though floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby may occur
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Cerner Sorian 1st generation charting system
  • Not open to accommodating block schedules

Requirements

  • Active DC RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC (PALS preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Triage experience required
  • 2 supervisor references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Royal Blue scrub color required
  • Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and IV therapy to a Level I Trauma patient population
  • Located near the Shaw/Howard University Metro stop with multiple bus routes for easy access via public transportation
  • Street and hospital parking available at the traveler's own cost
  • Return staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year prior to reapplying
