Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med-Surg/Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital environment
- 13-week contract with day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Mandatory floating within the med-surg cluster, including MS/Tele units
- Cardiac telemetry patient population with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Performs skills such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
- Preferred experience with non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and cardiac drip management (no titration)
- Cerner charting system preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CPI preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with MS/Tele specialty experience
- Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
- Ability to work in a healthcare facility with routine exposure to contagious illnesses
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response using Rapid Response/Code teams
- Manage patients with respiratory needs including chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen therapy
- Coverage required for 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Maximum requested time off (RTO) is 10 days during the contract
- Travelers may work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months) before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning in an agency capacity
