Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of experience and CT/RI licensure for an evening shift position at a Level III trauma center.
Details
- Short term acute care Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds
- Part of the Yale New Haven Health System
- Pediatric patient population within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department
- Evening shift, 4x10 hour shifts
- 40 hours per week with 8 and/or 12 hour shifts based on department need
- Weekend coverage required at least every other weekend
- Holiday coverage required at least every other holiday
- Floating to Westerly Hospital as needed
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
- Pediatric experience required
- BLS certification required
- CRT certification required
- RRT certification preferred
- CT and RI state licenses required, with at least one active license to start and the second pending
- License required if applicable
- Epic charting experience preferred
- 1 professional reference required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care and neuro diagnostic support to pediatric patients
- Skilled in neonatal/pediatric equipment including Bubble CPAP, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, and umbilical blood gases
- Experience with oxygen therapy delivery methods such as bag and mask, high flow nasal cannula, and trach collar
- Proficient in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Experience caring for infants and children with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) preferred
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Free parking available
- Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local
- Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
