Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry/IMC position requiring 2+ years of cardiac tele experience and an active Oregon RN license.

Details

  • work within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma Center hospital
  • Cardiac IMC unit caring for cardiology, EPS, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and advanced heart failure patients
  • Patient population includes ACS, NSTEMI, HF management, pre/post cath care, arrhythmia management, pacemaker placement, CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, and VAD/heart transplant care
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) on a 36-hour week
  • Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within Acute Care/IMC scope, including to nearby affiliate hospitals
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Uses safe patient mobilization equipment including ceiling lifts

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oregon or Compact) required; pending license applications accepted if submitted to the licensing board
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required, RQI not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required for consideration
  • Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • BSN, NIHSS, and PCCN certifications preferred
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care/management
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and IV insulin protocols
  • TAVR experience is a hard requirement
  • Two manager/supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)
  • COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
  • Relias exam score of 85% or higher required

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive cardiac telemetry nursing care across a range of complex cardiac and vascular conditions
  • Provider coverage includes 24/7 on-call and often in-house providers depending on the primary care team
  • Scrub color can be any solid color (no prints); scrubs are provided
  • First-time travelers are accepted, though strong Epic experience is preferred for candidates without EMR experience
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
  • Floating to nearby affiliate hospitals may be required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
  • Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must have a completed reference from their prior OHSU manager
  • Returning staff must have a gap of 6+ months before returning as a travelers
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront and are limited to a maximum of 2 weeks
  • Maximum approved RTO is 5 days for a 13-week assignment or 7 days for an 18-week assignment; extended time off must be added to the end of the contract
  • Comprehensive background check required, including lifetime background review; no background or license issues will be accepted
  • Seven years of verifiable work history, including complete employment dates and locations, is required for consideration
