Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Postpartum position requiring 2+ years of high-risk obstetric experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in a large-volume, high-census Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum unit
- Care for a diverse, high-risk obstetric patient population following delivery
- Standard patient assignment is 4 couplets
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
- Required to work 6 weekend days per contract
- Float required to Issaquah Campus Postpartum, Edmonds Campus Postpartum, and Labor and Delivery for the second hour of recovery
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- High-risk obstetric care experience required
- Experience with Magnesium Sulfate therapy required
- Experience with Pitocin (oxytocin) administration required
- Experience managing postpartum hemorrhage required
- Experience with substance withdrawal care required
- Foley catheter care experience required
- Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement)
- JADA device experience preferred
- Skills in postpartum care following Cesarean section and vaginal delivery
- Skills in episiotomy/incision care and fundus/lochia/perineum care
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive postpartum care including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring for complications
- Deliver couplet care to mother-baby pairs following delivery
- Must be prepared to float to sister facilities within the region as needed
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel nurse and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within a comparable specialty within the last 3 years
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer time-off requests may not be accommodated
