Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment at a busy Birthing Center requiring 2 years of L&D experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

• Work in a Birthing Center with 11 LDRP rooms, 3 triage rooms, and 1 OR
• Cares for laboring, delivery, and postpartum patients including newborn care
• Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labor, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin induction; 1:3 for couplets; 1:2 for early labor patients
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required with possible on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required at time of submission
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• NRP certification preferred; candidates without active certification may be considered if willing to obtain
• 2 years of current Birthing Center experience required
• Experience with laboring patients, newborn care at delivery, and postpartum care for both mothers and babies required
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Current skills checklist (within 1 year) pertinent to specialty required
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last 2 years required
• Must have own vehicle

Additional Information

• Provide professional nursing care using critical thinking and independent judgment across all phases of the nursing process
• Direct and supervise the patient care team, including CNAs, LPNs, and other techs
• Collaborate with team members and other disciplines to coordinate patient care
• Document patient care, condition, and response to treatment in a timely manner
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will be considered at a 10% decrease in rate/hour
• Permanent address must be included in candidate profile
• Time off requests must be submitted and verified at time of profile upload; requests made after upload or during interview will not be approved
• No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted
