Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery/LDRP position requiring at least one year of LDRP experience and a valid WA or Compact RN license.
Details
- Labor and Delivery/LDRP unit within a Short Term Acute Care, Level III Trauma Center hospital
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- Every other weekend required
- On-call required during low census periods
- Block scheduling required
- Floating between units required, with potential to float to sister facilities nearby
- Patient ratios of 1:1-2 for Labor and 1:3-4 for Postpartum couplets
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
- AWHONN Beginner certification required
- ACLS and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year of LDRP experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, and labor and delivery management
- Experience with high-risk delivery, hemorrhage/shock management, and VBAC/trial of labor required
- Experience with fetal monitoring including EFM and IUPC placement required
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required
- First-time travelers accepted for this position with required LDRP experience
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care settings
- Manage high-risk obstetric conditions including pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and preterm labor
- Perform antepartum care and procedures including NST, OCT, and sterile vaginal exams
- Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Provide postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care and breastfeeding support
- Any scrub color permitted; surgical services attire provided
- No parking fees at this facility
- Must reside within a 50-mile local radius; candidates within this radius are accepted at a lower rate
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
- RTO must be requested and finalized at time of submission; requests made after submission or offer may not be granted
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities as permanent staff, travel contractor, or registry/per-diem
