Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level IV NICU/Pediatric position requiring 2+ years of pediatric-only respiratory therapy experience and RRT or CRT certification.

Details

• Children's hospital setting providing respiratory care to pediatric patients throughout the facility
• Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU
• Teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Certified Stroke Center designations
• Patient population ranges from neonate to pediatric age
• 12-hour day shift schedule, 0700-1900 (36 hours/week)
• Shift times may include 0645-1915 or 1845-0715
• Every other weekend rotation
• No call requirements
• Schedule cycle repeats every 6 weeks
• Uses IPPV/NIPPV ventilators
• EPIC EMR used, with testing available to expedite onboarding
• No floating to other facilities due to specialty unit needs

Requirements

• RRT or CRT certification required
• NC state licensure required (license required if applicable)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience on a Resource Team with pediatric unit experience in the past 5 years
• Must have peds-only assignment experience, not mixed age populations
• IPPV/NIPPV ventilator experience required
• ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, or General Medical Floor experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients across a children's hospital, including neonatal and pediatric age ranges
• Supported by Respiratory Leadership team
• Onboarding includes 3 days of orientation for ED and general floor assignments
• Additional orientation day provided for each specific ICU unit if traveler has multi-unit ICU experience
• Onboarding includes 2 days of computer training, equipment familiarization, and facility orientation
• Expected to work 75% of holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; time must be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours are not met
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Free parking available
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Returning employees must be separated from any facility within the health system for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
