Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D, OB, and Mother/Baby experience along with an active Michigan RN license.
Details
- Work in a 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
- Provide antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub nurse, newborn nurse at delivery, and couplet care
- Perform lab draws and hearing screens on newborns using the ALGO 5 Machine
- Follow AWHONN guidelines for patient staffing ratios
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- Work every other weekend
- No call requirements
- Float to the house as a sitter when needed
- Float to a second hospital location approximately 27 miles away when census allows
- Uses Epic for documentation
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Current certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and either AWHONN Intermediate or NCC C-EFM
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in OB, Mother/Baby, and L&D required
- Required skills: Circulate and FHM Triage
- Scrub skills preferred
- Proof of flu vaccination required for consideration
Additional Information
- Will be trained to complete newborn infant hearing screens using the ALGO 5 Machine
- Scrubs are provided
- Travelers are given priority for floating assignments
- No RTO permitted during the first 8 days of the contract
- RTO limited to no more than 10 days over the course of the contract
- Previous Bronson internal travelers may return after 6 months
- Previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
- Longer contract lengths may be considered
