Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Acute Care/PCU position requiring compact or NC RN licensure and prior ICU/Stepdown or Med-Surg experience.

Details

• Work in a 30-bed Acute Care unit spanning Med-Surg and ICU (PCU) levels of care
• Team-based care model with daily interdisciplinary rounds including MDs, nursing, case management, pharmacy, and PT/OT
• Patient ratios of 2-4:1 for Stepdown/ICU and 5-6:1 for Med-Surg, supported by 2-3 PCTs on the floor
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Weekend rotation of 3 Mondays and Fridays per 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required per staffing matrix
• Floating to TCU may be required
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Utilizes IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound vac, Baxter feeding pump, lift equipment, and Pyxis

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certification required, to be completed prior to end of orientation
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• ICU/Stepdown experience preferred
• 1 year of Med-Surg experience preferred
• Experience with IV starts, CVL, arterial lines, foley catheters, EKG monitoring, and wound care
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a full spectrum from Med-Surg to ICU acuity levels
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Nurses required to wear navy blue scrubs
