Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and a SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
• 3x12-hour night shifts, 6:45p-7:15a
• Every other weekend required
• On-call requirement of two 12-hour shifts within a 6-week period
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Epic EMR and Philips Intellispace fetal monitoring system
• Uses Omnicell medication administration system
• Navy surgical scrubs provided by facility

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of labor and delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, and NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced and STABLE
• Epic charting experience required
• Comfort with couplet care or transition nursery preferred
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
• Experience with fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and IV therapy required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, and recovery care
• Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Deliver postpartum care including fundus checks, lactation support, and wound care
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
• Previous perm or PRN staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• Employees may be required to support emergency response efforts during hurricane season (June through November)
