Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and GA or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department (ER) of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- 16-week assignment length
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
- Skilled in respiratory care and management of ventilated patients
- Experience with medication administration including continuous IV sedation preferred
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Triage experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
- Provide emergency department nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of critical patients
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day)
- If one or two major holidays occur during the assignment, no holiday time off may be requested
- If three major holidays occur during the assignment, one holiday time off request may be considered
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to start
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Candidates who have previously worked in a permanent, per diem, or FCSS role with this health system must be away for one full year before returning as a traveler
