Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with Open Heart experience for a night shift assignment requiring a valid Ohio or compact RN license.

Details

• 16-bed ICU unit within a 310-bed hospital
• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting with Open Heart focus
• Designated Neuro Unit for ischemic stroke patients receiving TPA
• Patient population includes CABG, valve post-op, Impella, IABP, and CRRT cases
• Cares for COVID-positive and prone patients, including 24-hour EEG and post-cardiac arrest hypothermia protocols
• Targeted patient ratios of 1:2 for Critical Care and 1:3 for Intermediate level patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• 13 or 18-week winter contract options available
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby Premier hospitals, including high-risk respiratory/COVID units
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license required
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Open Heart experience required, including CABG, valve post-op, Impella, IABP, and CRRT
• Must pass an online EKG/tele competency assessment prior to starting assignment
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Experience with vents, NIH, IV starts, ICP monitoring, and conscious sedation required
• Epic EMR experience required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

• Strong emphasis on customer service
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission
• No RTO or schedule requests will be negotiated after an offer is made
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted
• Candidates with past license disciplinary action will not be considered
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying
