Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring MICU/SICU background, MA RN license, and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Every third weekend required (Friday-Saturday)
• Must be able to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations due to union facility
• Float to the Emergency Department for boarders as needed
• 36 hours per week position, with openings for 13 or 26 week contracts, and availability for up to 48 hours per week
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous Medical ICU and Surgical ICU experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• IV insulin protocol experience

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a medical/surgical ICU setting, including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and administration of critical care medications
• Must pass two separate pass/fail exams during orientation: a medication exam and a telemetry exam, each allowing only one attempt; failure to pass results in immediate contract cancellation
• Study materials are provided during the compliance process and facility-directed interviews to help prepare for required testing
• Completion of pre-start and orientation modules is required, with additional annual modules
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
• Candidates must have a 12-month separation from the health system if previously employed there
• Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
