Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit position requiring MD or compact RN license and 2 years of Neuro Critical Care experience.
Details
- Work in the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) of a hospital environment
- Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-operative neurosurgical needs, as well as nerve and muscle diseases
- Patients require care providers to manage the interface between the brain and other vital organ systems
- Rotating 7A/7P shift schedule
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Required to work 3 of every 6 weekends
- On-call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required as needed to areas of like skill set, including ICU and IMC
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro Critical Care experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Comparable large facility size experience required (500+ bed facility experience)
Additional Information
- Provide specialized post-operative neurosurgical care to neurologically complex patients
- Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Strong candidates preferred given the high acuity and complexity of this main hospital setting
