Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit position requiring MD or compact RN license and 2 years of Neuro Critical Care experience.

Details

• Work in the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) of a hospital environment
• Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-operative neurosurgical needs, as well as nerve and muscle diseases
• Patients require care providers to manage the interface between the brain and other vital organ systems
• Rotating 7A/7P shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Required to work 3 of every 6 weekends
• On-call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required as needed to areas of like skill set, including ICU and IMC
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro Critical Care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Comparable large facility size experience required (500+ bed facility experience)

Additional Information

• Provide specialized post-operative neurosurgical care to neurologically complex patients
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Strong candidates preferred given the high acuity and complexity of this main hospital setting
