Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring prior travel experience and the ability to float across multiple ICU environments.

Details

• Float pool role covering a variety of ICU settings including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, and progressive critical care unit (PCCU)
• May also care for ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Uses Epic EMR
• Floating to multiple ICU units required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification from AHA or RQI required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level I trauma center experience strongly preferred
• Experience floating across a variety of ICU units highly desired
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required (Canadian SIN not accepted)
• Medical exemption signed by a licensed professional required for flu declination (personal or religious exemptions not accepted)
• Must complete a competency test within 24 hours of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing coverage across multiple ICU units as part of a float pool team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are not eligible, specifically those in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington counties
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• 48-hour work weeks may be available for interested candidates
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week contract period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks of the last call-out
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
