Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel position requiring 1+ years of experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on the Medical-Surgical Combination unit of a 250-bed academic community hospital
- 24-bed unit serving patients of all ages with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend or as-needed weekend requirement
- On-call as needed
- Floating as needed
- Uses Meditech EHR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Virginia or compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC, available onsite)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, 2+ years of Med/Surg experience preferred
- Professional demeanor required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a busy medical-surgical unit serving a wide range of adult and pediatric patients
- Facility is a designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center with comprehensive surgical, cardiac, oncology, and wound care services
- Any scrub color permitted, but casual attire is not allowed
- Consent to random onsite drug screening and completion of a criminal questionnaire is required
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates must not be employed elsewhere full-time
- First-time travelers may be considered
