Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2+ years of Critical Care/ICU or ED experience and a KS or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital environment
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1
• 12-hour night shifts, 1900-0730, three shifts per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Floating required to ICU and all inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED for candidates with prior experience
• Current EMR is Epic

Requirements

• Active KS RN or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing own labs required
• Comfortable working without a vascular access team, calling own consults, and conducting own codes
• Open-heart Day 2 or Day 3 experience with pacer wires required
• Epic EMR experience preferred

• Provide critical care-level nursing to progressive care patients requiring close monitoring
• Facility is a nicotine-free environment
• Orientation includes multiple days at different campus locations plus virtual Epic training
• CBC, drug screen, and lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Local and travel candidates accepted at the same bill rate
