Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2-3+ years of ED experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 154-bed Duke Lifepoint hospital with a designated Chest Pain Center and Joint Commission accreditation
• Emergency Department with 17 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Patient population includes primarily geriatric and adult patients with some pediatric cases
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, and psychiatric presentations
• Uses ED Paragon EHR system
• 13-week assignment with a 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM shift
• 36 guaranteed weekly hours
• Every other weekend required unless the opposite scheduled staff member is a weekender
• No call requirements
• No float requirements
• Self-scheduling managed through the When to Work app

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• 2-3+ years of Emergency Department experience required
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• ADN or higher required
• Ability to safely and efficiently care for a team of patients regardless of acuity
• Ability to recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately

Additional Information

• Located in Clyde, NC, near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and about 20 miles from Asheville
• Provide direct patient care to a mixed ED population handling chest pain, abdominal pain, psychiatric, and general emergency cases
• Work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with an emphasis on collaboration and adaptability
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs or facility-branded t-shirts; hoodie sweatshirts are not permitted
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates must not be employed elsewhere full-time
• First-time travelers may be considered given sufficient ED experience
