Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Tele/Onc night shift position requiring at least 1 year of PCU experience and comfort with cardiac drips and post-cath care.
Details
- Work in the 2EW Tele/Onc unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 34 beds on the unit
- Care for general medical, cardiac, and select oncology patient populations
- High volume of post-cath lab patients including TR bands, stent placements, and fresh cath patients requiring q15 min checks (no sheaths, no art lines)
- May care for oncology patients but not required to administer chemotherapy unless specified
- Serve a patient population with roughly 30% Spanish-speaking and a high volume of underserved/charity care patients
- Uses Epic EMR
- 12-hour night shift schedule (7p-7a), 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required at least 2 times per month (Fri/Sat nights considered weekend)
- Floating required within scope throughout the hospital
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license (WA State or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
- First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years total nursing experience, including 1 year in PCU
- Skilled in trach care, chest tube management, TR band care, post-Cath Lab care, and central line maintenance
- Ability to read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythms
- Experience caring for patients on BiPAP and high-flow oxygen
- Comfortable managing cardiac patients and titratable drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix

- Provide general nursing care across a diverse patient population including cardiac, medical, and select oncology cases
- Deliver compassionate care to a diverse and underserved patient community
- Any scrub color is acceptable
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply with sufficient relevant experience
