Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of recent critical care experience for a day shift position requiring SC RCP licensure and NBRC RRT certification.
Details
- Community hospital setting within the Respiratory Care unit
- 13-week assignment on day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45a-7:15p
- Holiday rotation required
- Weekend requirement of every other weekend
- Must float within scope to all areas of the hospital, including labor and delivery
- No floating to sister facilities required
- No on-call requirements
- Patient ratio of 1:8
- Uses Epic for charting
- Adult critical care, emergency department, pediatric critical care, and NICU work settings
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience required
- RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
- SC RCP (South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider) license required in hand at time of start (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required in hand at time of start
- Community hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Prior travel experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway management including intubation/extubation assist
- Experience with high-risk delivery assistance and neonatal/pediatric respiratory care preferred
- Experience with medication delivery systems including MDI and nebulizer treatments
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
- Perform ventilator management, weaning, and troubleshooting of high-pressure alarms
- Conduct airway management procedures including intubation/extubation assist, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Administer a range of respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and nitric oxide
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and provide NICU/pediatric critical care support as needed
- Caribbean Blue scrub color required
- Free parking available on-site
- During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on qualifications
- Previous MUSC perm staff or PRN employees must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted; radius rule of 60 miles applies
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application for consideration
