Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a CO or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent acute care PCU experience.
Details
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PC2) of a hospital environment with a large cardiac patient population
- Facility features Magnet Designation and includes two Tele floors along with the PCU
- Patient ratios are 1:5 for day and night shifts
- Day shift and night shift coverage with RNs and CNAs on most units
- Shift schedule runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment length
- Uses Meditech EMR system
- Floating required to all inpatient Med/Tele and Rehab units
Requirements
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care PCU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
- Prior Meditech experience preferred
- Chemo certification preferred for those interested in Oncology scheduling
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

- Provide progressive care nursing to patients with varied acute and chronic medical conditions, including a significant cardiac population
- Strong team-oriented culture where staff support one another across units
- Great opportunity to gain experience caring for a diverse patient population
- Flexibility and willingness to float to other inpatient units is essential
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position
