Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a GA or Compact license and at least 2 years of ER experience.

Details

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
Every other weekend required
No on-call responsibilities
Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
16-week assignment length

Requirements

Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
Skills in respiratory care and management of ventilated patients
Experience with medications including continuous IV sedation (preferred)
Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring (preferred)
Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
Proficient in patient triage
First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit

Additional Information

Deliver emergency nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
Provide care for ventilated patients and manage respiratory needs
Administer and monitor medications including continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation as needed
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized prior to submission
No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
