Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a GA or Compact license and at least 2 years of ER experience.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- 16-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
- Skills in respiratory care and management of ventilated patients
- Experience with medications including continuous IV sedation (preferred)
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring (preferred)
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Proficient in patient triage
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit
Additional Information
- Deliver emergency nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
- Provide care for ventilated patients and manage respiratory needs
- Administer and monitor medications including continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation as needed
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized prior to submission
- No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
