Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with an active IL RN license and at least 2 years of experience for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Uses Epic charting system
• Care includes telemetry and respiratory patients with tracheostomy management

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• CPI certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Medical Surgical unit, including cardiac monitoring and respiratory/tracheostomy care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days, with no more than 3 days requested and no time off during the first or last week of the contract
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Any prior staff from University of Chicago Medicine or Ingalls locations must have a 7-month separation before returning as a traveler
• Non-billable orientation modules (2-3 hours) required, varying by profession
