Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Nursing Float Pool position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring a WA or compact RN license and 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Nursing Float Pool position primarily assigned to the ED Holding unit
• Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds
• Floats within scope of practice to ICU, PCU, CCU, Medical, Surgical, and Rehab units as needed
• ED Holding unit handles mixed diagnosis patients with ratios of 1:2 for ICU, 1:4 for PCU, and 1:5 for MS patients
• ICU patient ratio 1:2 based on acuity, PCU/CCU 1:4, Medical/Surgical 1:5, Rehab 2:8 team model
• 12-hour day shift schedule, 36 hours per week
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• May float for partial shifts within scope of practice

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, ostomy and drain care, and trach care
• Traveler Telemetry Competency required
• Strong communication and patient education skills required

Additional Information

• ED Holding unit is fast-paced with mixed diagnosis, isolation, and non-ambulatory patients requiring flexibility and resourcefulness
• 24/7 support available from Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalist, and Intensivist teams
• Tech support ratios vary by unit, ranging from 1:8 to 1:14
• Orientation includes 2 days of hospital orientation followed by 1 day on the assigned unit
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable except camo, and must maintain a professional appearance
• Phones are not permitted on the unit and scheduled breaks are required
