Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Oncology RN for a night shift contract requiring an Iowa or compact RN license and at least 2 years of Med/Surg and/or Oncology experience.
Details
- Work in a Med/Surg-Oncology unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week
- Required to work every third weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float within the same discipline across local campuses
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Iowa state or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS may be obtained prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and/or Oncology nursing experience required
- Experience administering Heparin, PCA, and epidural drips required
- Chemotherapy administration experience required if certified
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- High acuity care experience preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year required for consideration
- One supervisory reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Contribute professional and clinical expertise as part of an interdisciplinary care team
- Provide comprehensive care and treatment management for Med/Surg and Oncology patients
- Complete a 16-hour new-hire orientation on scheduled dates
- Holiday coverage required, working 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
- Limited time-off requests permitted during the Thanksgiving and winter holiday periods
- Candidates must have a taxable address more than 50 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates previously employed by the facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible for consideration
