Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Critical Care Float for an academic Level I Trauma center, requiring multi-ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Critical Care Float position covering multiple ICU units including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery, as well as IMC/Progressive/General care populations
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 1900-0730, with 4x12 schedules also accepted
• Every other weekend rotation required with some holiday coverage
• Floating required across critical care units as needed
• Utilizes Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience, with at least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center required
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification and 80% or higher overall passing score
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation required
• Experience managing patients on continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and vasoactive/cardiac drip titration required
• Experience in neurological critical care including EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery management preferred
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT required
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties within an academic Level I Trauma center
• Work at a Magnet-designated facility ranked as the #1 hospital in Wisconsin
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• References are not required for consideration
• Preferred experience includes care of patients on ECMO, Impella, IABP, and pulmonary artery line monitoring
• Preferred experience with burn care and thermoregulation management
