Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and CA RN licensure, with prior travel experience required.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care Magnet-designated hospital
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
- Weekend requirements may exceed every other weekend based on unit needs
- Facility retains ability to call off one shift per pay period (2 weeks)
- May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Uses Epic for charting
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs, with L&D/OR scrubs provided
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (NCC EFM certification accepted in place of AWHONN Intermediate)
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Must be able to circulate for C-sections
- Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams
- Experience assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries required
- Experience with fetal monitoring, including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, required
- Experience with external fetal monitoring (EFM) required
- Experience with medication administration including antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy required
- Experience in large hospital settings highly preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for submission
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit within a 426-bed acute care Magnet hospital
- Assist with high-risk antepartum care and procedures, including cervical cerclage and D&C
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Travel pairs will not be considered
- All RTO must be submitted at time of application, as post-submission RTO requests may not be granted
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
