Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a TX or compact license and at least 2 years of ER experience treating both adults and children.

Details

• Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 8-week assignment length
• Level II or III trauma center setting
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Handles trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management responsibilities

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required, preferably in a similarly sized facility
• 5-8 years of experience preferred
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must be willing to obtain if offered)
• NIHSS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• Level II or III trauma experience required
• Recent ER travel experience within the past 6-8 months preferred
• Skilled in emergency medication administration and IV vasopressor management
• Experience with 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Two supervisor references required from within the last 3 years of employment

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care for a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including respiratory distress, cardiac events, trauma, and psychiatric emergencies
• Perform procedures such as splinting, central line care, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted with application and some holiday coverage is expected
• Pending license applications accepted at time of submission, but must be active before start date
• Facility conducts an on-site drug screen including marijuana testing, with a positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
• First-time travelers are not preferred; recent ER travel experience is preferred
