Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Night Shift position requiring telemetry experience and an active PA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) of a hospital setting
• Care for patients requiring cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, and stepdown level monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Any charting system experience required; Cerner experience preferred
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• PICC line management experience preferred
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Two supervisor references preferred

Additional Information

• Provide skilled nursing care to stepdown-level patients including cardiac, neurological, and post-surgical cases
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration, thrombolytic agents, and heparin protocols
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, pacemakers, and post-MI care preferred
• Experience with total joint replacement and traction care preferred
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
