Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring general OR and trauma experience along with an active MI RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a Level I Trauma Center
• Primarily adult patient population with 1:1 patient ratio
• Day/evening rotating shifts (7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p) or straight evenings
• Weekend call required in 8-hour blocks (7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a)
• Up to 4 weeknight calls and 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No floating required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required in-hand at time of consideration (compact license not accepted)
• BLS and CAC certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
• General OR and Trauma surgery experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications must be obtained prior to start date

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across general OR, trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, and robotic surgical cases
• Level I Trauma Center environment supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including plastics, bariatrics, and ENT procedures
• Exposure to robotic surgery systems including Da Vinci Xi, Da Vinci SP, and Mako Surgical System
• Flu vaccination required with no medical or religious exemptions; allergy-free option available for those with allergies
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Candidates previously employed by the health system within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 1-year separation
• Traveler pairs are not accepted
• No pre-hire training modules required; all modules completed onsite during orientation
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the contract
