Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 3+ years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit including 4 Triage, 11 LDR, 2 OR, NICU, and Post-Partum areas
• Supports low and high risk L&D with 24/7 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage
• Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)
• On-call is voluntary, though RNs may be placed on call if not needed for their scheduled shift
• Float to Perinatal unit as needed
• Uses Epic and Allscripts EMR systems
• Utilizes SBAR communication and Omnicell technology

Requirements

• Active California RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
• Epic EMR experience required
• Allscripts charting system experience preferred
• Skilled in external fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience circulating for C-sections required
• References required for consideration
• Must pass an advanced EKG exam (80% minimum, two attempts allowed)

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care across triage, LDR, OR, NICU, and post-partum settings
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Return staff will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 3 days RTO allowed for the contract
• One holiday RTO request may be submitted but is not guaranteed
• Must work most holidays
• Facility is smoke and nicotine-free; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
