Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience within the last 12 months and Level I trauma experience for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Care Services department at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient population includes BPICU, SICU, MICU, and NSICU units
- Care for adult trauma and burn patients with complex medical and neurological conditions
- Frequent trach patients and spinal cord injury cases
- Manage patients with complex sleep disordered breathing
- Small pediatric population served, with training available if needed
- Busy ED with ECLS transfers
- Epic EMR experience required
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- No floating required outside of scope
- Block scheduling available
Requirements
- RRT certification required
- BLS certification required
- WA state license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Critical care experience within the last 12 months required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with Cough Assist/MIE and LP/LPV required
- Skilled in vent management, oxygen therapy, and monitoring for trauma and adult ICU patients
- Epic charting experience required
- ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications preferred
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to adult trauma and critically ill patients, including complex neurological and medical cases
- Manage ventilator settings, oxygen therapy, and airway management for ICU patients
- Perform tracheostomy care and management for high-acuity trach patients
- Support ECLS transfers within a high-volume emergency department
- Open to training in pediatric respiratory care as needed
- First-time travelers accepted for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
- Minimal RTO accommodated; time off cannot be scheduled during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Prior facility staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a travel clinician
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Scrub requirements include any solid color scrubs, with light blue scrubs provided for on-unit use
