Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele Orthopedic Unit position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or Compact RN license.
Details
- Work on an inpatient orthopedics Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
- 58 staffed beds on the unit
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-7:30
- Various days of the week including weekends per unit needs
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 6:1 at night and 5:1 during days, with potential to flex higher based on staffing needs
- Float required to other units within scope and potentially to sister facilities based on facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
- Navy scrub color required
Requirements
- Active CO or Compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry remote monitoring, and emergency response
- Experience with rapid response/code team protocols
- Comfortable working in environments with flexible, higher staffing ratios
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to orthopedic and med/surg telemetry patients
- Complete all facility-specific modules within the first week of assignment
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
- RTO is not allowed during specified blackout periods around major holidays
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted
- Candidates who completed a full year on assignment with this facility's OR unit must wait at least one year before being rebooked
