Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• Adult and geriatric emergency department with all emergency-type diagnoses
• Combined adult/pediatric ED with a dedicated pediatric area and trauma suite
• 1:5 patient ratio
• 13-week assignment with alternating 11a-11p and 7p-7a 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday coverage required, if needed
• EPIC charting experience required
• Floating required within skillset
• Uses Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management required
• Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI care required
• Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with emergency care including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma required
• Skilled in isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric spinal cord injury care

• Scrubs must be any combination of navy blue and white
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted

• Previous staff must have a 6-month system-wide break in service before returning
