Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical/Neuro-Stroke unit position requiring an active OK or compact RN license and NIH Stroke Scale certification.

Details

• Work in the Medical 9 West unit, a 28-bed unit serving adult Neuro/Stroke patients with telemetry capability
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a Healthcare Unit Coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• 13-week assignment with night shift hours from 18:30-07:00
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required based on department needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (OK or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

• Implement and monitor patient care plans while recording and communicating patient condition
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Radius rule applies allowing local candidates consideration at a reduced rate, with the specific mileage varying by state
