Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2+ years of OR experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Surgical Services department within a 495-bed hospital
- Specialty experience needed across Robotics, General, Trauma, Ortho, Vascular, Gyn, Urology, Bariatrics, and Thoracic cases
- Schedule consists of 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
- 36 guaranteed weekly hours
- On-call requirement of 6-8 calls per month, which can include weekends
- No floating required
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active VA RN license or Compact license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA only
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must provide US Social Security Number for consideration (Canadian SIN not accepted)
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Blue scrub color required per facility dress code policy
- Must reside outside a 65-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- Located in Winchester, VA, offering access to Shenandoah National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail

Pros
Everyone has been very helpful and kind. The hospital is clean and pretty easy to navigate to rooms and floors. It's in a good location.
Cons
Not a whole lot of short term homes for rent but some nice hotels and rooms for rent. Not a lot of things to do during off time but DC and Shenandoah Park are a short drive. So are a lot of caverns.
