Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least 18 months of Med/Tele nursing experience.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit within a 337-bed hospital that is a Chest Pain and Stroke Center
• 34-bed unit with an average census of 32 patients
• Cares for patients with ESRD, CHF, pneumonia, sickle cell crisis, diabetes/DKA, wounds, and acute/chronic renal failure
• RN to patient ratio is 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, with critical surge up to 1:7-8
• 12-hour night shift schedule from 1900-0700, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Floating required within Region 2 facilities including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, Levine Children's Hospital) as needed and within scope of practice
• Support staff includes CNAs, HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, dedicated pharmacist, case managers, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Respiratory Therapy, Nurse Educator, and Hospitalist coverage
• Telemetry monitoring/tech support available
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, Rover communication, and Hoyer lift equipment

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience required
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required
• Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) required
• General medical/surgical skillset required, including care of patients with tubes/drains, IV starts, blood product administration, and wound care/dressing changes
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• At least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and wound care
