Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist requiring ARRT registration and current BLS certification for a hospital imaging department.

Details

• Hospital-based imaging department performing computed tomography scans
• Schedule includes Friday through Sunday shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week over 3 days
• Shared call rotation coverage of 2-3 shifts every 6 weeks
• May be required to work weekends and holidays based on departmental needs
• Cerner EMR used for charting
• Potential to float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT registration in CT preferred
• Active SC or compact Radiologic Technology license required, if applicable
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professionals program preferred
• Completion of an accredited Computed Tomography Program preferred
• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
• Must be able to perform frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients
• Must be able to lift, move, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs intermittently
• Must have corrected hearing and vision within normal range

Additional Information

• Produce computerized tomography radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered by physicians under radiologist supervision
• Assist radiologists with procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
• Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures and assist with informed consent
• Communicate with radiologists and family members regarding procedures and discharge instructions
• Ensure accurate entry of orders, diagnosis, and clinical history into the computer system
• Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and DHEC/TJC guidelines
• Work involves exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and radiation
• Work environment may involve stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
