Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry I/IMC Med-Surg night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the IMC Med-Surg unit of a hospital environment
• Care for a wide variety of general IMC patients including neuro, respiratory, cardiac, and GI cases
• Manage patients on tri-drips and BiPAP
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Full time, 13-week assignment
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license in Texas or compact required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of related nursing specialty experience required
• BSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Make appropriate patient assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Previous CHRISTUS Health employees must have a 6-month separation period across the entire health system before being eligible for a travel assignment
