Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN - PACU with 2 years of related nursing experience and a TX or compact RN license required.

Details

• Work in the Post Surgical PACU unit of a hospital setting
• Cares for general, ortho, urology, ENT, cath lab, ENDO, GYN, and PEDS patients
• Does not care for neuro or cardio patients
• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts, with 4x10 schedules also accommodated
• Full-time assignment over a 13-week duration
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in the related specialty preferred
• BSN preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
• Critical Care and PreOp experience highly recommended
• Perioperative RN Residency or recent OR/Perioperative setting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete organizational and department-specific competency validations
• Must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
• Completion of annual competency verification requirements is required
• Returning employees who previously worked at any CHRISTUS facility (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period before starting a travel assignment
• Temp-to-perm possibility available
