Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring at least 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience.
Details
- Hospital-based 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit (4 North)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Unit supported by Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
- Uses Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn vital machines, wound vacs, temporary pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and Doppler devices
- Utilizes Imobile for team communication
- Documentation completed in Meditech
- Full-time schedule with 7A-7P shifts
- Requires 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
- May float to other units based on demonstrated competency
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience required
- Must be able to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
- Experience with post-cardiac procedural care (ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart, permanent pacemaker placements) required
- Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
- Experience with IV insertions, NGT placement/maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and foley insertions required
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- Two professional references required for Missouri assignments

- Deliver patient-centered care aligned with facility patient experience goals, including bedside shift reporting and responsiveness to patient needs

- Required dress code: navy blue scrubs, with option to pair black scrub pants with a navy blue top
- Many travelers have transitioned to full-time employment after completing contracts here
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
