Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of high-acuity ED experience with adult and pediatric populations, plus Epic and Level II Trauma Center experience.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
- Level II Trauma Center with preferred Level I Trauma Center experience
- STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- Evening (1500-0330) and Night (1900-0730) shifts, 12-hour and 8-hour shifts as needed
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years required
- High-acuity ED experience in a 40+ bed unit preferred
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months
- Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital experience preferred
- At least one prior travel assignment (minimum 6 months) required; extensions highly preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to starting the assignment
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
- Skilled in advanced procedures such as IV therapy, central line care, arterial line management, chest tube insertion, and blood product administration
- Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and interpreting arterial blood gases is valued
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs required
- Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with orthopedic trauma and splinting preferred
- ECMO/ECPR experience is a plus
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
