Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Post Acute Long Term Care position requiring a Maine or compact RN license and prior LTC/SNF experience.
Details
- Work in a Long Term Care (LTC) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting
- Units may include a specialized 31-bed Alzheimer's/Dementia care unit, a 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit, or a 42-bed long-term care unit
- Rehab unit provides short-term skilled nursing and rehab services for patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other conditions
- Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
- Day shift schedule (7a-7p)
- 13-week assignment
- Flexibility required to support coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days per week
- Floating to other units required as needed
Requirements
- Active Maine or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1-3 years of RN experience required
- Associate's degree in Nursing required
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills required
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary care team
Additional Information
- Partner with residents and other care providers to create a safe, comfortable therapeutic environment through direct and indirect care
- Utilize verbal and non-verbal communication techniques when caring for residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia
- Provide care within a home-like environment for residents requiring long-term placement
- Support rehabilitation for patients recovering from surgeries, fractures, strokes, and other short-term illnesses or injuries
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced local rate
- Candidates with licensure or background issues will not be considered
- Previous employees of this facility are not eligible for rehire
