Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active Iowa or compact license, prior travel experience, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work on a 16-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes ED observation, overnight stays, and various post-surgical patients requiring overnight monitoring
• Patient ratios of 3:5, up to 2:7 at most
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7p, 36 hours per week (no 48-hour shifts)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to float across campuses and to like units
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Navy scrubs required

Requirements

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
• Minimum 24 months of current Med Surg/Medical Surgical Telemetry, Tele, IMCU, stepdown, or PCU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Heparin administration experience required
• Current AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• Current AHA or ARC ACLS certification required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients including those with ED observation status and post-surgical overnight stays
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Candidates previously employed by the client within the 12-month period prior to submission may not be eligible for consideration
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to the previous travel experience requirement
