Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg RN for a night shift surgical unit position requiring 2 years of recent Med Surg hospital experience and a NH or compact RN license.
Details
- 27-bed Surgical Unit within a hospital setting
- Staffing includes 5-6 RNs and 2-3 LNAs per shift, with a Charge RN and Unit Coordinator on day shift
- Patient ratio of 5-6:1
- Unit performs orthopedic surgery procedures (knees, hips, shoulder, cervical) and bariatric care
- Uses Hoyer lifts and CPM equipment
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment
- Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
- Floating required to Medical Oncology unit
- No color restriction for scrub attire
Requirements
- Active RN license (NH or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience in a hospital setting required
- Experience in orthopedics or bariatrics preferred
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to a surgical, orthopedic, and bariatric patient population
- Work collaboratively with a team-based, patient-focused care approach
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- No local candidates will be considered
