Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg RN for a night shift surgical unit position requiring 2 years of recent Med Surg hospital experience and a NH or compact RN license.

Details

• 27-bed Surgical Unit within a hospital setting
• Staffing includes 5-6 RNs and 2-3 LNAs per shift, with a Charge RN and Unit Coordinator on day shift
• Patient ratio of 5-6:1
• Unit performs orthopedic surgery procedures (knees, hips, shoulder, cervical) and bariatric care
• Uses Hoyer lifts and CPM equipment
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Floating required to Medical Oncology unit
• No color restriction for scrub attire

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience in a hospital setting required
• Experience in orthopedics or bariatrics preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a surgical, orthopedic, and bariatric patient population
• Work collaboratively with a team-based, patient-focused care approach
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• No local candidates will be considered
