Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring an active NV RN license and a minimum of 2-3 years of Level 3 NICU experience.
Details
- Work in a Level 3 Neonatal ICU setting
- Patient population ranges from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months of age
- Neonates primarily admitted from labor and delivery, with NICU staff responding to neonatal emergencies and attending all C-sections and high-risk deliveries
- Treats conditions including extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome
- Provides services such as noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, High Frequency Oscillation, and nitric oxide inhalation therapy
- Performs bedside procedures including peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, parenteral therapy, and blood product administration
- Schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts per week
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required
- Minimum 2-3 years of Level 3 NICU experience required
- Must be proficient with vents, oscillators, pressors, and caring for micro preemies
- Required certifications: STABLE, NRP, and BLS (AHA only)
- Must have at least two years of prior work experience in a US hospital within the specialty area
- Two manager or supervisor references required, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
Additional Information
- Provide neonatal intensive care including assessment and immediate care of newborns post-delivery
- Assist with bedside diagnostic services, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and parent teaching
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
